Wilderness Advantage Owner Manual

the country without memory

There is a fact that leaves me dismayed, beyond the obvious loathing the law in a discussion of "security." Our Prime Minister said yesterday that there are no applicants on the boats aisle, arriving only criminals who can afford to pay a ticket. Evidently it was not well informed, because everybody knows that people start to sell everything he has and often their families into debt to allow the child to dare more promising. Or, who runs away and does nothing in the months of their stay in Libya gather enough money to travel in ways incidental ... someone says they did not pay. Women, unfortunately, is sought after account, turning them into slaves. The chairman of the board, maybe, these things do not know. Please, someone them to him Explain.
But - I said - there is another fact which leaves me incredulos, every time. We are a country not only without consciousness, but without memory. And I say this because we too were immigrants (and - as Saviano said today on the Republic - the gangs have exported around the world). No. For something else. According to UNHCR, in first place among asylum seekers in Italy are Nigerians. Immediately after the Somalis, followed by the Eritreans. Libya, Somalia and Eritrea: tell us anything? Libya today for the average Italian is only the starting point of the barges, the Government only a place to invest and where to buy gas. The Horn of Africa, only an indistinct spot on the map. But we remember the past? Someone still studied what we did in those countries? Possible that there is a minimum of consciousness and responsibility toward them? We have apologized to Libya, of course. For convenience. And Somalia? The land of pirates and waste. Nothing else. Yet, the Somalis, the ones in the south, where war has destroyed everything, they speak Italian. We remember why?
